the actual cost of mri in a clinical/diagnostic setting seems exorbitant. but actually for scientific research it could be very productive.
i did a bit of searching:
crucial keywords: clinical and “medical necessity” [in this case…] on reddit in /r/radiologyadded: other relevant keywords might be… for /r/askdocs would be: mri cost ordered

but in the process of searching i , at least, saw that there are cases where clinical mri can probably be really essential(excluding missed diagnosis).
