Have you ever noticed something strange about these types of accounts? (screenshot not mine btw)

No? Well, I am here to tell you the true purpose behind them.

Since at least the late 2010s, multiple accounts dedicated to the showcase of art and architecture and “cottagecore”-style content from all across Europe began to pop up out of the blue, with usernames that live up to their gimmick like “Traditional Western Art”, “European Beauty”, “Nordic Architecture”, “Cultural Europe Art”, and other similar names.

You may think that those are just normal, innocent accounts posting elements of medieval and ancient European culture, and I would’ve thought the same if I never got too deep into them to find out what was really going on.

Despite claiming to stay away from politics, they had really questionable, fascism-like views on what they claim is “degenerate modern art” and harboured some of the worst type of human beings on the planet, and these human beings were open white nationalists and conservative Christians. I am not going to provide any examples of their fans for sanity reasons, but I can tell you: their opinions were vile, so vile that they made Donald Trump look sane.

“But if that is the case, then why did they never get taken down?” The answer is very simple: these accounts were bypassing Twitter’s guidelines and managed their accounts in a way that was tricking the algorithm and even regular users that didn’t suspect anything suspicious about them, and it worked! This was exploitation of a loophole where they could pass off their accounts as “educational” and “historical”.

So, their true purpose was this: getting around rule violations and possibly indoctrinating gullible users into their beliefs.

Here is an old article covering this phenomenon from 2018, and yes, this problem is still happening to this day, and has possibly gotten worse now that Elon owns it.

I don’t know about the history subreddits, but I do know that there used to be a sub called “whitebeauty” that posted random photos of white people that served a similar purpose.
