Hi all! What’s your opinion? Let’s pretend reddit would give in to the protest and cancel the plan to increase the API pricing. Would all of you go back to Reddit or stay on Lemmy?

I mean… what has been said by the CEO cannot be unsaid now. We all now know what we are in the eyes of the CEO.

Not with me, but if they did do that I think maybe some amount of people would be placated.

I‘m actually now enjoying the fediverse for what it is and what it can be. It feels like exploring new tech and community concepts and so on, it‘s exciting stuff and my focus has switched from “taking refuge” to joy at the opportunity to experience these decentralised instances growing. It feels like Reddit did for me around 2008 or so, when I first started exploring it as a teen (oh god I‘m getting old now pls help).

That is probably the main reason why no amount of carrot or stick would fully get me back on Reddit again. Maybe I might make a throwaway and log on a bit to get potential posts for lemmy, since I do now avoid even that much out of spite for spez lol.
