I feel like the Hanoi Pact will only happen if the relationship between the PRC and Vietnam were to become more friendly (I think Lenin once actually said that we need unity between Marxists) but China and Vietnam don’t want to go “MLs together strong” fsr
Western media is really trying to push the narrative that China and Vietnam refuse to work together. But the reality is, though relations are strained, they’re trying to mend them.
Vietnam wouldn’t survive another war with NATO, nor would they survive sanctions without a major change to their industries. So it’s very strategic for them to become closer to China, as a deterrent.
