The current world isn’t ideal for the creation of a stateless, moneyless, classless society, thus Marxists are working on changing the material conditions of the world to strive toward that goal. In this capitalist-imperialist world, latent with reactionary forces, the protection of socialist revolutions is important. How do you expect to ever reach your utopian ideal for socialism/communism when imperialist powers routinely stop them in their tracks? Is that not authoritiarian of them?

Control over these foreign and domestic counter-revolutionary forces is necessary, thus “authoritarian” measures must be taken. Engels described this, as did Lenin, and it has been shown in practice in countless socialist countries.

You say no one takes “tankies” seriously, but every existing socialist country is “authoritarian” or Marxist-Leninist. The 90+ million in the CPC, the millions in the Cuban Revolutionary Defense Force currently extending authority over the counter-revolutionaries out protesting, the millions in the Communist Party of Vietnam, are all part of serious revolutions that are working for the better of their people. Thankfully, they don’t seek the approval of Western leftists, otherwise they would be nowhere, because anti-communist leftism and liberalism are nothing but deadends.

Well yes, which is why for people who don’t want to live in authoritarian state can’t really take tankies seriously. That’s how it always ends up with a bs “someday things will be different” promise. Sure, “someday”.

Well look forward to the deadend of liberalism and idealism while socialist states and their people advance their technology and material freedom.

I’d be genuinely happy to see socialist states becoming more free on those and other aspects. It would take nothing awat from me and would overall seem like a positive development. Fingers crossed.

Thank you, I genuinely appreciate the positivity. I want nothing but the freedom and happiness of oppressed peopls worldwide from the struggles of capitalism and imperialism, so sometimes I’m a bit aggressive about my feelings toward that idea.
