I live in Austin currently but I’m considering moving to Portland. I have grown up in Texas but I hate the weather here. My dad is from Portland though he left home when he was like 18 and hasn’t been back much. I have some family I barely know out in the sticks of Oregon.
What’s your thoughts on living in Portland?
I moved here in 1992 from another town in Oregon. Got out of college, needed to go to work, but there was no way to make a living in Eugene, so here I am!
My advice: Secure a job first. Way harder to get started if you hit town with no money. Land a gig, then housing happens. Fortunately, there are plenty of places hiring, so landing a job shouldn’t be too hard.
