That is the way how Vivaldi makes money for its infrastructure, servers and incommings for the employees which owns this company (Vivaldi is an employee-owned cooperative, no big boss, nor third party investors). Using the sponsor links is only the user choice, if he want to support the Vivaldi project, alternatively you can make donations or buy something in it’s store if you want.
