minus-squareRatette (she/her)OPMlinkfedilink5•2 years agoI have a few that are pretty based/down to earth but there’s a massive disconnect that’s sometimes very hard to bridge. If they say anything like “but I have a gay friend” I’ve learnt to just not waste my time.
“But I have a queer friend” is genuinely the reason I make a habit of keeping the straights at arm’s length. We can be acquaintances, business associates, sure; but we will never be bosom ‘friends’.
I have a few that are pretty based/down to earth but there’s a massive disconnect that’s sometimes very hard to bridge.
If they say anything like “but I have a gay friend” I’ve learnt to just not waste my time.
