my feedback after using Lemmy for 2 weeks on SMARTPHONE :

  1. Annoying menu when you write ‘:’ on a post.
  2. a top bar with buttons ’ Home’ , ‘search’ ‘New post’ , ‘Inbox’, Menu(profile, new community, about…) will be better than just ‘Lemmy …Menu’
  3. Text too small when we write a post. should be the same than the text size you use to display a post
  4. Under a post : just few buttons as ‘reply’, ‘Edit’ and button ‘…’ (advanced menu for ‘report’, view user profile…)
  5. Replace ‘preview’ with just ‘post’ . Preview is useless Thank you

To add my thoughts on some of these:

    1. Signal, Matrix, discord, all use : for emoji shortnames. But I found that they only show the menu after 2 characters, I can see if thats possible.
    2. I don’t know what you mean by this. The hamburger menu at the top is because there isn’t enough space for all those things, and when you click it, it expands down. What did you have in mind?
    3. The text when you write a post is the same size as the display text. What did you mean by this? Can you screenshot?
    4. I could probably add a more / ellipsis for the extra stuff.
    5. Preview is 100% necessary for markdown previewing.

Whats wrong with the navbar? That isn’t enough space to show all the items, which is why the hamburger menu is there.

There’s something going on with your chrome text sizing, that body text isn’t right. I’m on firefox mobile, and tested on another mobile browser, and the form text size is exactly the same as the comment or post body text.

          1. For the nav bar, you can replace text with button : home, search, inbox buttons are well-known.
          2. I use chrome, as lot of people. Don’t know what is wrong…

I have no idea what “replace text with button” means. There isn’t enough room in that navbar, so on thinner screens, it smartly uses a hamburger menu.

I don’t know what’s wrong with your chrome either.

              1. navbar text is not a big deal, I will do with it
              2. more annoying : for text size in chrome. you should try if someone you know can do the test with chrome.
