This is probably mostly related to strategy games, but honestly any will do. The only thing I can think of is Stellaris with the communist mod, which is cool, but it’s outdated to heck at this point and I’d like to hear more options =)

I think playing as Mao in Hoi4 is actually pretty decent. Unlike the soviets they don’t go out of their way to imply that Communist China is some sort of terrible dictatorship. You get to abolish land rent, improve literacy, and most importantly, form the glorious people’s republic.
And you can easily eat most warlords around you by mass spamming weak troops and surrounding their troops, on less off a year you can eat 3 warlords. And after you kick the shit out of the japanese with better troops, you can backstabb the natonalists and form the CPR!
