Don’t agree with his assessment at all pretty much, but still interested what yous think about that stance, because really I’ve not seen much theory based discussion on the topic since the early days of the conflict.

Well its a bit like WW2. The allies (US, UK and France) became antifascist out of circumstance. They would have been more than happy to let Hitler destroy the USSR. But since Hitler attacked them first, they had to ally with the USSR in an antifascist coalition to protect themselves.
