Israeli new army chief admits Gaza losses higher than reported

Israel's new chief of staff said there was a significant difference between the actual numbers of losses in Gaza and the statistics the military gave.

TLDR:

Since October 7th 2023, 5942 families in Israel have been listed as “bereaved”, compared to 844 military deaths in official statistics.

Even if this were to include the claimed death toll of 1200 on Oct 7th 2023 (which is way higher than the real number), this is still multiple times higher than Israel’s govt will ever admit.

Over 15000 soldiers have also been admitted into rehabilitation for physical and mental injuries suffered since October 2023.

    Yup. I did some napkin math a while ago when the 8000 figure dropped and it’s basically the worst civilian to fighter ratio ever recorded.
