Considering the volume of fries and nuggies, I doubt it if anything for product consistency. Oil that’s had chicken fried in it will taste like it really really fast, there’s probably a hotter oil temp for the chicken as well. Most places that do a lot of frying will have one or some for fires and one or some used for other stuff, it’s just more practical.
Also, don’t they fry them in the same oil as the chicken nuggets?

I worked at McDonald’s and Sonic previously and everything was cooked in the same vat of oil
Weird, that would be worse, slower and more expensive.
I’ve been in one of their kitchens and there was only one vat of oil, but I don’t know if they served nuggies here back then 🤷
