The west is now run by financial oligarchs who aren’t interested in doing things like industrial manufacturing, and have little understanding of what’s involved in it as a result. These people think that they can just will things like factories and skilled workers into existence by throwing money at the problem.

I’m just so glad the CIA turned out to be a more closely aligned with finance than with industry or they’d be much more effective and dangerous.
