Ah that might be it. I thought it would be really egregious if an highly upvoted post is deleted. On the other hand, an inoffensive without votes, or many downvotes, won’t get seen either way, so I’m not sure moderation intervention was really needed either way

Then the deletion should have mention “duplicate of xxx” but also, this one has 700 upvotes, was the other one even more popular ?
Also also, if it’s a duplicate then the proper action should have been merge not delete
