The article doesn’t even mention stuff like planned obsolescence or the fact that a lot of new goods end up being destroyed to artificially inflate prices.

    Not only were the goods made better, but people cared about them. There weren’t thousands upon thousands of new plastic bullshit toys from the latest new TV show every year, or an entire society built around replacement.

    Capitalism fucked us up in so many more ways than people even know.
