There is no “real” answer to your question, its philosophical and we can at most find a potential truth but may never know the truth.

Disclaimer out of the way i will take you on a small (summarised) story, of an idea i have thought lots about.

The human brain is composed of 2 sub parts as most people know. Each part is just bundles of neurons but different bundles of neurons have specialised in different functions, From this set of brain function to left or right brain is constructed and then from the combined total of that left and right brain it emerges into a human/mamal mind.

While one mind, the sides can operate individually, if the thin connection between then is lost. This important for the pattern, it also possible demonstrates how a half can be conscious on its own. So your current conciousness is actualy 2 conciousness working in tanden. At least.

Modern research has suggested each brain side is actually also composed of 2 parts themselves.

So 1 human mind emerges from 2 (conscious?) brainbits, which on their own emerge from 2 (concious?) brainbits, who on their own emerge from bundles of neurons that perform individual functions.

This is the pattern… But in reverse.

My argument about brains was rooted in science till now. The pattern will remain but from here on its pure philosophy.

Why would the pattern stop. If my mind is emergent of half minds emergent to even smaller minds. Then i am part of the chain of complexity. If i work together with other bright people and organise that i too become part of a greater complexity. Just like my brainlobes are for me.

So could there not already be a higher entity Somewhere that is as complex to us as entire humanity is to a single brain cell. Where our developed minds ARE the brain cells.

An adjacent story.

If i was “god” and there was nothing around, what would i do? I guess at some point i would split myself into 2 and then from interaction between us things that are more interesting then nothing can be created.

Till we are bored then we split again… and split again… split again… its division an smaller echo of a all knowing singularity. I have a theory i call the maximalisation of reality. More interactions means more complexity, more potential, more stuff.

Put these stories together and you can Imagine a model. Where you and some of the people you frequently deal with are actually all the same higher level one, which i guess we could call an angel with understanding that its not a perfect consciousness itself. As this angel may togetherness with a few other angels make a higher level one…

So who are you actually?

If you are your brain lobes emerging into you.

Then the first level of higher consciousness is the humans it emerges from.

You where always you, but you where also always the people around you, and you where always all layers of higher consciousness.

The one level higher consciousness may grow and shrink in the human minds it emerges from (or do we emerge from it, idk) thats not different from the human mind where braincells die an grow every day.

This news was barely news a few months ago when it was first reported.

This is intended to handle the increase of calls that are related to one incident, so callers get automatically routed to an AI agent who asks if they are calling regarding the incident. If the answer is yes, then callers can receive information or updates, and if it’s no, then the callers are transferred to a human.

This combats multitudes of calls piling up and taking longer time to potentially answer an emergency call. The OPCD said the AI will not be used to handle emergency calls, only to direct such calls to a human dispatcher.

Its a strech to even call this “AI”

There are many and many things to rightly criticize ai companies for but to Summarize what this is about.

Anthropric buys book using real money. (Not fake ai credits like how “compute” often gets bought)

Meaning the books are now anthropics property… right?

They then destroy the cover/binding. So they can scan the individual pages easier.

I assume with no further use to the pages it all got discarded after scanning.

Is it economically inefficient and wasteful? Yes. Does it feel wrong? Yes.

Should journalism instead focus on how the text data is used in context of the ai/copyright problem. Yes

Is it wrong to destroy an object that you own because it the easiest way to accomplish your project? No, that would be silly.

I am guilty myself.

I have destroyed a book in art class, My entire class did, to be made in a box, i did not even read or scan its content to save any of it. If every student of this old teacher had ever this assignment… that is a lot of books over a career.

I have destroyed generic cheap tools to make more specialized single use tools.

This is another level perhaps but i have very recently seen a good argument to always bring identification.

The reasoning is that if you get arrested, they will learn your identity sooner or later anyway. So wether you carried identification will only affect for how long you end up arrested yourself and possibly how bad you will be treated.

Is what i faintly ask myself when i do look at a analog clock.

In digital, the numbers are just numbers, 9:42 is 9:42 while in analog 9 can mean 9 or 45.

“It is almost a quarter before 10” is a sentence i would need to think twice to understand even when well pronounced from a vocal clear distance.

The internet actually really needs an overhaul to how links are presented. So you can press a video link and opening in the compatible player you prefer.

I read “learning here” as “expressing natural curiosity towards niche topics” as opposed to a neurotypical peers who will just berate for talking about it.

There is a weird thing that i think was hinted upon in a ds9 interview that for some reason “they” do not like to have star trek fans working on the set and those that where where supposed to act low profile about it.

We have been the steampunk universe all along!

1. I rarely watch tv cause i can’t pay attention.
2. When watching anything its usually short form content, i keep going back and forward sometimes on (twice speed) and may watch a video over multiple sessions, repeat sections multiple times.
3. i may pause in the middle of watching, a 30 min show, spend and hour researching a tiny detail on my phone and then go back.
4. i cannot pay attention to watch while eating unless its at a desk.
5. i can watch a +1h movie that is interesting enough with others in a single sitting but i will be mentally exhausted and in need of a break after.
