It got much better with the two recent updates. Images still sometimes spaz out when you scroll, and for whatever reason searching for communities doesn’t seem to work right. But for reading, commenting, etc it’s totally usable.

It is - but you can still access via archive.org and similar resources.
You’re right - reddit had so much going on, it did sometimes feel like you were downed out. And as I’ve seen others mention, bots and spammers had become SO bad. I hope we can have a community here that surpasses what we had on Reddit, and as of now - all signs point to yes.
Mine is deleted. 12 years gone. But in the end, I think I’m better off for it.
Thank you, I really appreciate it!
I’d also love an invite to Tildes (for anyone reading this) I sent a message to the invites email earlier today but haven’t heard back just yet.
This does feel a lot like the reddit I missed, only better. I will also agree that I find myself more likely to engage here, versus reddit where I exclusively lurked.
That’s incredibly sad, and as the other commenter suggested, all too common with big daddy capitalism. I can’t describe how angry it makes me, and how powerless those situations make me feel at times. I’m so happy, and proud, when I see communities truly fight back - and I can fight along side then. So often we go out with a wimpe, I want to fight for the things important to me!
