I am curious about the lack of, like, gifs in the Fediverse. If that makes sense? I understand gifs aren’t even that efficient and really they are like MP4’s or something that we just call gifs, but either way, I am not seeing gifs or short videos in line when I’m scrolling around.

Is this a technical limitation of ActivityPub or is this something that an app like Artemis can address? I LOVED being able to full screen a gif on Apollo, put my thumb anywhere on the screen and drag and I could scrub the “gif”.

Similar to this, I am always looking for good shows to fall asleep to. Typically like something that has a dark color palette, no super loud dialogue or anything, etc. Right now, I’ve been falling asleep to The Clone Wars animated series. Lots of space backdrops, dark colors, and I think the Star Wars sounds are naturally cozy for me.

UPDATE: It’s back. I believe it goes away if you set “Show top bar” to Yes

Possibly? I swear there used to be a “Magazines” tab just to the right of “People”… I would go there and search for a topic and it would list out the different instances related to that topic across the fediverse… but its gone now?

This I what I just don’t get! As a user of RES, the “new Reddit redesign” or whatever it was, was so heinous to me because of all the empty space on the left and right of the page. Even on Lemmy.world I kinda get the same feeling, UI wise, on desktop. Kbin isn’t as bad tho when it comes to wasted space
