  • I checked, they have an email list but not an RSS feed.

On this discord, there is no messaging functionality. There used to be a join channel which showed joiners, but got removed as people kept changing their usernames, joining and leaving in order to send messages. (Some people still do it by using lower ascii characters to appear in the sidebar). So you’d have “Jeremy Corbyn” and “Jimmy Savile” and “Prince Andrew” joining

People still leave reactions on messages. It’s a fun assortment of union jacks, trans flags, pride flags, palestine flags, Ukraine flags, russian flags, EU flags, israeli flags, crosses, black pregnant men, middle fingers

  • I think I’m one of the more well known religious folk on this place, and I am also a bit of an AI doomer.

I think the way some people want to use it is satanic.

    Revelation 13:14-15 ESV

and by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.

  • Labour are set to abandon the term ‘Islamophobia’ in favour of ‘anti-Muslim hate’ - a disgraceful watering down of horrific racism

Actually, yeah, that is perfectly reasonable. Islamophobia is a stupid word. It can be used to apply to actual criticism of islam. And there’s no such thing as a phobia of an ideology. “Phobia” means irrational fear of.

In terms of racism - an Arab Christian or Atheist can still be a target of anti-muslim hate. So it can be a form of racism. Attacking anyone based on religious belief is wrong, so yeah, it’s a better term. You can attack Islam all you like, but not innocent Muslims. And condemning “anti-muslim hate” is clear that you stand for freedom of speech but not for religious persecution.

IMHO The Canary is a rag of baity low-quality journalism. It’s basically a leftist daily mail.

Keir Starmer had no qualms using the term “Hinduphobia” in addressing the concerns of the British Hindu community.

That’s because Hindus are adherents of Hinduism. If it was “Hinduismphobia” it would be stupid. Adherents of Islam are called Muslims, not Islams

Starmer’s commitment to existing colonial relations is hardly a secret. He’s draped himself in the Butcher’s Apron from day one.

And there we have it. The Canary is hardly a partisan source.
