China still has far less per capita emissions than the west despite much of western manufacturing being outsourced there. Understanding the cause of emissions is helpful in figuring out where the focus needs to be for effective reduction in emissions. The west needs to drastically lower consumption if the world is going to be able to meet its targets.
Of course China had less emissions than Europe in the past. But I don’t understand how/why this could be helpful for protecting the climate?
