No. Courts are the instrument of control excercising the power of the ruling class. It might be possible to use them in some cases (though you probably noticed that whatever is done throught the court always come too late and the penalties are laughable) or, better, use them in concert with other methods but overally the climate fight can be only won by abolishing the capitalism (not automatically but it’s a prerequisite).
I think this does set a positive precedent on the youth, their philosophical pursuits and their ability to drive important change. While im inclined to agree with your skepticism on courts, we have to trt and be pragmatic here: If it works, it works. And while the main goal needs to always be dismantling capitalism through class-conscious education and relevant moral studies: We have to let people try every way possible to bring about the necessary change as long as it doesnt result in more violence and trauma in society.
I’m not saying they should do nothing, they absolutely should, even liberals doing liberal actions for climate will do at least something.
I just saying they can’t win against the system from inside of the system.
