    i mean there are very few things you need.

    here are some things you don’t need:

    • friends and family
    • fresh air
    • bathing
    • happiness
    • a healthy diet
    • government
    • an economic system
    • a partner
    • a house
    • a bed
    • grocery stores

    so many things didn’t exist 100 years ago, too:

    • the abolition of child labor
    • the widespread adoption of the 3-meal-day
    • women’s right to vote in the US
    • the great depression

    it’s a stupid fuckin post

    The only reason the concept of a weekend was implemented was because that was the same time the 40-hour work week was implemented.

    before the 40-hour work week existed, people could work and rest whenever they needed to.

    But now yes, we do indeed need weekends.
