Euromaidan and its aftermath is a massive topic, but basically NATO gave a shitload of money to the most reactionary groups in Ukraine, who eventually ousted the pro-russian leader Yanukovych and took power. Ever since then, Ukraine has been a bastion of homophobia, right-wing terrorism, and neo-nazism.
