Didn’t see that coming, definitely an added bonus.

Plant based diets certainly have a much lower risk of food born illness, but it’s definitely still possible to get food poisoning from rice that’s been left out on the counter, or from lettuce that hasn’t been thoroughly washed, just to name two examples. Don’t let this be an excuse to be unsafe in the kitchen.

When I was first dating my partner we shared a green mango salad and both got food poisoning. Each of us nearly shitting our beds later that night was a real bonding experience, a milestone in our relationship. Even food poisoning is better when you’re vegan.

      But yes I agree

Composting is also a lot easier. Everything goes in the pile, easy

Also trash and recycling for that matter. Yes it can still get gross, but it happens a lot slower and the worst is way less bad than say crab night or dairy/egg that’s gone off.

And it’s one of the best aspects. All of a sudden the logistics of food make sense again. It’s not out to get you or fragile. It’s just there to be eaten.

Demanding the mods here start charging tariffs on foreign imperialist posts like they make me do. I have to borrow money from friends to post on here now.

You might not think you’re being anti-vegan, but coming to a vegan comm and posting something like that will always come off as anti-vegan because you’re being condescending. The point was not that washing cutting boards will solve the problem, it was that you won’t have that problem at all if you’re vegan.

You also might not have noticed the rules or even which instance you posted your comment on, but this community is for vegans only and you are a self-admitted carnist. Don’t expect anyone to treat you with kid gloves and you will be banned whenever one of our mods realizes.

edit: Thanks to whoever got rid of them so quickly. rat-salute I’m so fucking sick of carnists coming to explicitly vegan spaces.
