I did this when WoW BC launched. We had a pre order, took the day off, and it snowed. Still got to the game stop. Felt bad for the guy opening, and we werent alone.

Worst snowstorm I had ever seen (and I lived in a place where getting over a foot of snow overnight was nothing unusual), worked in a casino, 90+ years old lady that looks like she last ate 20 years ago arrives in her car and tells us “Wow, the roads are very dangerous, if I had known I would have stayed home!” Fucking hell! I told her “You realise you could have just turned around and go back home instead of driving half an hour, right?” She just didn’t know what to answer to that…

I college there was a blizzard and in the middle of it my housemates and I decided to walk down to a local bagel shop for lunch. I don’t know why we did it, because we rarely walked anywhere to eat, let alone to this place. It was fine though. It was probably safer taking that walk then when no one could drive anywhere rather than any other time. Those were some good bagels.

Yeah, but that goes for like, grocery stores. If you’re coming in to Marshall’s for some discount throw pillows or Christmas knick knacks when it’s snowing and icing balls outside, yeah I’m gonna think something is wrong with you and lowkey be annoyed you’re even here.

Honsetly after experiencing the covid era, I think it’s the same people who were throwing a fit and refusing to stay in their houses for even one day.

Coming from a winter city, nothing changes when it’s a blizzard. I find it funny when cities shut down when it snows.

Coming from a city where it was 80 last week and 45 last night, we don’t have a lot of snow equipment here to deal with it, so our roads end up being SUPER dangerous to navigate whenever we get the lightest of snowfall. My city has to borrow snow plows from outside of the state just to manage the roads

This exactly. Plus, people around those areas generally have no idea how to drive in that weather so it gets substantially more dangerous just to be out and about. Even if you know what you’re doing to at least stay safe, you can’t assume Joe Shmoe flying onto the highway in his jacked up dodge ram has any clue.

“I feel seen and appreciated” – The hotwifing couple’s bull

EDIT: Well…that joke did not land. Oh well. I promise to continue undeterred as the true mission is to maintain high levels of Lemmy engagement. I am sorry to say that the occasional cringe inducing bad joke is the price y’all have to pay for the health and growth of the fediverse.
