    “soap is bad for cast iron” is and has always been a myth. if soap strips the seasoning from your cast iron you didn’t properly season it to begin with

      It’s always been a myth? The lye thing isn’t true? The main soap brand generic around here has some lie. Is it not an issue at all?

        soap made from lye mainly won’t have unreacted lye left in the soap, but even a little bit won’t significantly damage the seasoning unless you leave it for long periods of time
