Call me a sectarian or a crybaby or whatever, but I think the most painful and frustrating aspect is not the ghouls in power themselves, I already expect them to dole out slop year after year to maintain status quo, empower the fash, irritate 10 o clock news watchers and maybe widen a freeway.
Its the soapbox leftists/libs/leftcom/radlibs (or whatever kids these days call them) who espouse leftist talking points but seem to clam up the second their treats are affected.
Will they support Palestine liberation? No
Will they stop Thacker Pass mine? Or all the other displacement of ndns? No
Will they fight for the Navajo Nation- or the countless ndns who froze during the 2022 cold snap? No?
Will they call for even the basic shit like a wage increase? student debt forgiveness or even healthcare? oh FUCK no
It seems as though they have salaries or various other assets and wealth they risk losing if they actually stuck to their principles. All these assholes do is just render revolutionary movements and talking points inert while the fash become slowly comfortable and recuperated into mainstream thought. And Im not just saying all this to go on a mid morning coffee tirade, I am in a large discord server full of these kind of people. They’re unusually quiet on things like the plight of the ndns, but have an entire channel dedicated to ukraine news. Dont even get them started on Palestine, they have a roundabout way of supporting a ceasefire, israel, and voting blue at the same time and I just cant wrap my head around it.
All this does is make me mistrust and hate everyone.
