That is correct. After the 2014 coup, Russia held a referendum and after support of the vast majority, they annexed it.
Democracy is when 90+% of Crimeans want to rejoin Russia but Ukraine annexes them by military force anyway
Crimea has been Russian for centuries, it became ukkkrainian when corn man donated it to Ukraine (that at that time was in the same country as Russia mind you)
