Because of how this situation has unfolded, I am fully convinced that most people simply just dont care- the propaganda machine has managed to sell flimsy excuses to justify the killings and they lap it up without giving it a thought.

Realistically, should’ve known better, if people didnt give a flying fuck back then (as clearly demonstrated by the number of genocides littering history) why stop and suddenly care now?
