@einfach_orangensaft Burkina Faso already shares a border with its ally Niger which is a uranium exporter. I don’t think they need to do this to “get close”.
Basically if it does get built it will be Russian-owned and operated and supply power to other countries in the region - a region full of geopolitical manouevering.
The Sahel is mineral rich and has a lot of oil and gold, among other things. Actually building this could be a strategic move.
This is actually incredibly advantageous to the region. A consistent supply of electricity drives so much economic development it’s crazy.
Yes. Burkina Faso and Mali are some of the poorest nations so it could be huge.
One of BF’s borders is with Ghana, and I’m pretty sure they are still using Karpowerships.
