Costa Rica is a tropical country and has only two seasons; a dry season from January to March and a wet season during the rest of the year. It is geographically impossible for there to be a Four Seasons hotel in this country. If anyone has sold you a stay at such a resort, you have been scammed! Contrary to what is advertised, you will not experience autumn, winter, or spring in the way temperate latitudes do, nor do these hotels undertake any actions to emulate such an experience.
You shitpost, but I work high-end hospitality and this is the kind of thing rich entitled guests would actually complain about. It’s rare a week goes by that a guest doesn’t demand a refund for rainy weather negatively impacting their view (during the rainy season).
I think my favourite was a guest who didn’t want a refund but demanded we make it stop raining. Like we somehow had control over this and were doing it just to spite them.
Are you being sincere? Was there someone really this entitled and stupid?
I am and that’s not even the worst complaint I have heard. The things we have to DNR guests for is…particularly special. Had a guy who was screaming and yelling at our front desk call the police because we let one of our front service staff (who was a minority, which was his complaint) touch the luggage he had requested help with. Saved us the effort of calling the police ourselves, as they promptly escorted him out.
It’s always the mid-tier CEOs that have delusions of grandeur too, almost without fail.
What’s DNR? All I can think of is Do not resuscitate…
Do not rent. Blacklisted from staying at the property (and often the entire brand).
DNR’ing these people sounds like the absolute correct course of action.
Don’t overestimate human nature.
