There seems to be this infantile notion floating around that gutting German industry is actually a good thing because having industry is an obsolete idea. Then Germany will just switch to wind farms and solar for its meagre remaining needs. There is no consideration given to how Germany would build infrastructure without energy, or even manufacture this renewable energy infrastructure itself. There is also no consideration to what’s going to happen to people whose jobs will become obsolete or how these people will react to that. It’s all just magically going to work itself out.
