OK, confession time. I disliked Shadowheart at first, like really disliked her. So I dyed her clothes into light colors cause it seems like she’d hate that, being all into Shar and darkness. She has since grown on me, but I still really like these colors on her, even if she might not…
Oh no. It’s happening again. Gods have mercy on us.
Blue and Brown
White and gold!
Not again!!!
It was blue and gold!
I’ve never seen anything but white and gold there. Maybe because my camera likes putting the white balance way into the blue spectrum.
I think it’s the glare from the backlight. It’s a very bright warm white that probably bleeds over the dress, turning the black into brown and the blue into a cold white.
I can change the colors by squinting really hard. It’s a trip.
God, she looks like a circus performer.
I was the same way about her, sans the dye. I knew people irl who acted like she acts. I found her to be a snobby, narcissistic little removed, and I only took her with me out of obligation, boredom with the current team, or so I could give her another selune artifact because she hates those. I had minimal if any interest in her amnesia plot mainly because she never even spoke unless she was judging someone unnecessarily.
She’s still not in my top three and I can’t bring myself to say I’m sympathetic yet, but I am much more interested in what happens to her. As others have said, it really is incredible how bg3 continually does this. If one can only stomach being around them initially, which is a bit hard to do when you’ve got other companions who are just as serviceable and far nicer. I would be curious to see stats released on how many people completed the creche or the gauntlet without her and Lae’zel and missed out on some unexpectedly cinematic character development simply because the player couldn’t stand them long enough.
If that’s a current pic, she’s going to grow on you more :)
or so I could give her another selune artifact because she hates those.
This is hilarious.
Have you never, though? She removed and moans almost every time. Doesn’t seem to have any reaction to clothing, sadly, but statues and books and such, she’ll have something snarky about it
so I could give her another selune artifact because she hates those.
I’ve been doing this and casting Light on her everytime she removeded about something.
Luckily it’s a cantrip because that happens a lot.
Someone post that cooypasta about seeing the image on a public bus.
I just started my replay, it’s kind of crazy how unlikable so many of the characters I grew to love are in the beginning. Both Lazeal and Shadowheart are course like sandpaper early on. Karlach is the exception to the rule as she was always amazing
This is why BG3 is brilliant. The original Baldurs Gate games were exactly the same - most of the potential party members were so ambiguous and unlikable at first. It makes you come to love them so much more as they grow with you.
Baldur’s Gate is the greatest RPG franchise in history.
I think they changed it so most of them are less horny now than they were at launch. Maybe this led to them being more dislikable.
It’s not about horny. Laezel is racist and arrogant, borderline fascist. Shadowheart is a passive aggressive removed princess, zealot of Shar, no less. Wyll is a hypocrite. Gayle is a sweat talker. Astarion is an asshole. Karlach, you have a chance at killing her, but she’s the nicest, goodest one you can find, the polar opposite of Shadowheart.
