The bat is likely a Tube-Lipped Nectar Bat (also known as the Anoura fistulata) or a Cave Nectar Bat (Eonycteris spelaea).

Yes, the pallid bat does feed on nectar sometimes! Plus it’s the official state bat of CA, which I think is really cool.

I don’t believe there are any in Northern California, but there is the Mexican long-tongue bat in SoCal.

You might want to look into bat houses though - there are quite a few species that do live in NorCal although they feed on bugs.
