Guiyang Huaguoyuan Community, where 500,000 people live, is said to be the largest residential area in Asia..Dense residential buildings with floors as high ...
From the pictures there is still plenty of light on the ground, so I imagine it wouldn’t be too hard to pull off. From videos walking around there it does actually look like they did a good job of aligning the buildings for sunlight, which is obviously really important for any superdense district. I’m confident that it will get more greenspace in the future as China is actively working on becoming less and less car dependent, leaving more room in cities for greenery.
Oh for sure, I wasn’t really comparing this to any city in the imperial core (there’s no meaningful comparison to be made) but more like Chongqing or Guangzhou which are absolutely beautiful and the first things that came to mind.
I’m surprised sometimes at my inability or lack of creativity. I think if you asked me to guess what the comments might have been, gave me some nice food as an incentive, and like an hour I would not be able to think of that as an insult against China.
I really think the mental gymnastics are fascinating, it’s like an inverse Occam’s Razor.
Jeez, imagine mirror’s edge style parkour here. Would definitely appreciate more green.

Mirror’s Edge kicks fucking ass, I’m a superfan of it. Especially Catalyst.
