Just to make this official: use-package has now landed on the emacs-29 branch. This means, barring any major world disasters, solar storms, or similar, use-package will officially be a part of Emacs 29.

Nice. I currently don’t use it, but I oughta start. It seems pretty great.

LSP and tree-sitter integrated, extremely accessible themes like Modus built-in, WEBP, SQLite, JSON support built in, project.el can use git repos directly and use-package is also now built in? Emacs has become a truly modern editor.

The vc-use-package functionality was merged recently too, meaning that there is now a :vc keyword to use-package that let’s you install packages directly from git. It’s super cool that this is finally possible without any external dependencies. Still only in master, not sure if it will make it into emacs-29.
