basically in Reddit enhancement suite you can filter comments to only show comments that are “unread”, you click on a comment to mark it as read (or with email when clicking on a message marks it as read and you can even mark it as unread).
Is there something like that for hacker news? (a browser addon or some custom client).
You could always use their RSS feed, then configure your RSS front-end to only show unread content.
It’s interesting that my RSS reader (firefox extension) didn’t detect that feed.
But it displays posts, i am interested comments (incrementally reading those 500 comments in a popular and interesting post).
Fair enough, I think there are some RSS options for the comments, but I don’t use any personally, so I don’t know how well they work.
