I live in a developing country. Migrating isn’t really an option. I’m educated but I don’t have contacts anywhere. I see American “expats” who live comfortably abroad by working remotely. What jobs are there? Is it just programming and art design? How realistic is it to start a career in programming? I have an engineering background, just not in software. I actually enjoyed the little programming I’ve done with stepper motors and actuators. Wonder if none like that exist online as opposed to web design (not that I would refuse web design of that is the only thing out there)
Sorry if the post is all over the place, I’m just giving info to see if anything rings a bell.
PSA. I have tried applying locally but can’t get a reply anywhere despite having good grades and a couple internships.
If you see 'mericans working overseas…if they’re doing it legally they have a visa or they’re sponsored by a company that takes care of all of the paperwork for them. When you do that, you don’t typically stay for a long time.
Besides that, if you are a contractor or work in some industry where you can work remote, arrangements can be made should you decide to move to another country.
