I created this sub as a sort of backup for /r/gme. A place to duplicate important DD and create new Infos for when the MOASS starts and reddit goes down.

    Thanks for creating! I’m shifting over to Lemmy as a result of the recent Reddit leadership issues. It’s good to get off Reddit anyway as it’s easy to waste time there. Good to have a backup spot besides Gangnam Style lol. Hoping this community grows further!

      Me too! I actually created this sublemmy 2 years ago already and it has not really taken off so far unfortunately. Maybe the current reddit strike will help matters a bit and bring new users over…

      I really did not think about this too much. I just reckoned a foss powered community would be a lot better than using a corporate owned community like reddit. Is this not the official lemmy instance? There seems to be no one joining any way. But I will take this down, but please tell me what the major problems are with this? I mean /r/gme seems to be a friendly enough place. I would really be interested in how does lemmy cope with lots of users? What kind of bandwidth/processing power would be needed for 100.000 users or so?
