A discussion post to start things off. I use qutebrowser as my main browser in a tiling window manager (i3) without tabs. Each new page is a new window.

I’ve played around with a few options to move away from Qb in the past because the python distribution system for system applications is horrible (said with love from a paid python dev).

I’ve explored Luakit, vimb, nyxt and surf, but they all had very high levels of configuration in order to get to something resembling productivity. Thus, I always wind up back at Qb. But I’d love if anyone has experience with alternatives?

I know, this is a funny way to start a sublemmy about Qutebrowser, but I’m just curious :)

Firefox with Tridactyl and custom CSS to hide tabs and make it more minimalistic. I use it with Sidebery because I don’t do 1 window for each tab and usually have hundreds of tabs open, so it’s a better way to navigate them all for me.

IMO Qutebrowser is just the best of its kind. What do you dislike about the distribution system?

The reason I’m not using it yet is that I’m waiting for #30 and for the best people to write the best plugins/extensions :P. I really need that togglable dark-mode for each page like Dark Reader and good dynamic userstyles/stylesheets like Stylus (is that a thing yet?).
