NSW Police has had the device in operation for about 10 years, but Acting Commissioner Hudson said the use of the firearm is relatively uncommon.

Ms Lee said its use was commonly in the United States for crowd control purposes such as protests, or like in this instance, for welfare checks.

Love that our police are known for commonly using weapons in welfare checks.

Targeting center mass is what is typically practiced for. Not offering defense for the cops, just saying that if you practice shooting people the torso is where you aim.

Oh I’m well aware, what I meant was they actually hit her heart itself, like the bean-bag rounds are so useless that it just didn’t matter that they’re “less than lethal”

'less than lethal ’ is a disingenuous description even when everything is done and goes right. Just another way for cops to try to normalize shooting us. Kinda like the rubber bullets that aren’t supposed to be fired directly at people, but there are all too many reports of people taking direct shots to the eyes being blinded at best, killed at worst. Pig violence is out of control worldwide.

It’s alleged she had threatened people with an axe before she barricaded herself inside her apartment.

Completely warranted use of bags. It’s a shame they ended up killing her.

If they had used live ammo people would be asking why they didn’t use beanbags, tazers etc.

There’s a reason these weapons were rebilled like 15 years ago in the US as less lethal from less than lethal.

Totally justified use of beanbags, and like you said it’s a shame it turned out the way it did.
