I have a gym membership and most days I go with my best friend in the daytime(he works nighttime) or my brother(he works daytime) in the nighttime. They both really enjoy exercising with me, having a spotter, someone to help fill bottles etc, so I go twice some days. Is it bad to go hard once and then take it easy and focus on time under duress for my second visit? Is one trip all I should be taking a day? If I do go twice should I change up my workouts?
I do a 1 mile, 15-16 minute walk most days on my treadmill then a series of stretches for my old ass joints. Then later I try to do some lifting or walk more after work. Some days I do. Some I don’t. Depending on my sleep and how shit work was. Works been really shit lately and this is the first week I’ve had time to start back up with any exercise in a month. Trying to get back in the saddle. The walk and stretches are a little mini workout. Then second bit of exercise is usually some heavy lifting and/or 2+ miles of walking on the treadmill. I try to hit 8k+ steps a day of I can. Which is hard considering I wfh and sit at my desk most of the day.
As for your question I don’t really think it matters if you do the same kind of work out twice. As far as your body is concerned it’s just doing extra reps with more time in-between. Although usually when I have done a heavy lift workout already, if I try doing more later, my muscles just tell me to fuck off. So if you are able to keep going later on the more power to ya. The biggest difference is you can typically recharge from cardio and go again more easily than lifting which is gonna wear down and tear your muscle fibers and those take longer to heal.
Yea lol that’s what I noticed too, I tried doing a bit of Hips Legs after I already did it earlier in the day and my muscles basically said “drop the weight or I’m leaving” so I just went a lil light on it
