Pink Floyd is my favorite band. Has been for decades. If you quiz me on the band members or the early albums? Nah not my thing. I love their work but it’s not a goddamn trivia contest. They were just some dudes who did awesome work and were in the right place at the right time.

I was stoned in a forest the first time I heard that song. It felt like all of the animals in the entire forest were participating in a religious ceremony. It was quite the experience.
Meddle is an incredible album.
Yup. Somehow that album was my go to sleep music for a few years. I don’t understand how those weird whale noises didn’t wake me up.
I didn’t know what that album was until I saw it for sale for 4$ at the disc store back in 2005 or so… can’t say if I was disappointed or not… it’s quite a trip to listen to!
It’s definitely an experience. It’s not something you put on while driving in traffic, or at least it isn’t for me. It’s more like something you lay down and listen to at full blast while stoned, once. I’ve only listened to that album a few times, but I’m glad I did.

Music fans seem to be the hugest gate keepers, the sort that wants to cross examine you when you wear a band tshirt.

If by fake fans you mean trolls and others who enjoy pushing anger and outrage, I’m with you.
But if fake fans means people who hasn’t read the books and are okay with the changes to the show, then nah, I will not accept gatekeeping them. People are allowed to have different opinions. And us fans have a tendency to be blind to what works on screen because we each have favorite parts of the book we dont want to be cut away. We need the show-only fans.

I only consider Gatekeeping valid for people that are in charge of converting the material to a new form, they obviously should know the source material well. For fans though? piss off, they are allowed to like it without studying it. Having the same standards for regular fans than for show runners is very unfair.

For example, I hate The Flash. The only two things I know is that he’s a mama’s boy who breaks the multiverse out of grief, and the actor is mentally ill.
I made the mistake of listening to Twitter. All the rhetoric around the release time convinced me the movie was going to be terrible and full of super weird CGI.
I watched it. It really wasn’t. The CGI was only weird when it was fitting for the story. Even the baby in the microwave made sense in context. The movie itself was actually better than the DCAMU’s Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (though that’s a bit of a low bar because that movie is probably the weakest part of the DCAMU.)
I watched the Corridor Crew analysis of the CGI, including the scene with the babies. I’m good. It looks dumb and slow, especially for a movie about speed.

I love the Judas Priest logo and Electric Eye, but am just not a fan of metal in general. I have a Judas Priest shirt that feels really unfair to wear, because people will come to me thinking they’ve found a kindred spirit, but nah, my appreciation is as shallow as a fine fine crêpe
