    Using Guix, Nix is pretty nice, until you need software for which the ecosystem has little or no support, like those that have thousands of transitive dependencies (Node, …) or JVM, Rust, … that is the most impractical aspect of that category of software distribution. Guix support on this is lacking because of the stance on bootstrapping all the software’s dependency tree, and overly “cautious” patch review process.
