Some dude on reddit got pissed at me because I said Tibet had feudal society with serfs and slaves under the Lamas. They said I was wrong because it didn’t have slaves, only serfs and the academic sources citing slavery were very biased towards the PRC so their claims can’t be taken at face value. I was like, what tangible difference does this make? This is your brain on anticommunism.
Maybe its that modern trend you see where people hyper-idealize agrarian feudalism, and ignore all the torture, domination, and impoverishment by the landlords.
I forget if it was you who showed me this neat article about class struggle in Lord of the Rings where Tolkien idealises feudalism like that.
