Not sure why this is bad news, but I also don’t see how it solves the problem of missing public bathrooms too well. It’s really just a gloried portapotty, minus the portability
For me the problem is that it tracks your usage. Additionally, I don’t think pay per use solves the problem of toilets being unavailable to random people, including people without homes. It just sets us up for anther corporate tracking in the name of providing customer service. I really want to be wrong on this one though.
