    I think parents pass on a lot of their political orientation on to their kids. Not even explicitly, just somehow subliminally, probably due to the kids growing up in the patents’ environment and being exposed to their views and media.

      Yeah but you also get people like Mayor Pete who is noticeably less cool than his parent(s). That’s kinda what this post is getting at, I think.

      Not too hard to get you kid into the broad “lib” or “chud” cultural bucket, but if you want them to have a deeper understanding of the world beyond those surface level “politics” then I think it somewhat more tricky.

      Even then, I know I guy whose parents are walking mayor Pete’s, but turned out to be a fashy mf and the analysis we could do on that sort of situation would be pretty interesting.

    Not at all and boy am I thankful for that. My newly adult kid is as communist as they come, deprogrammed me a lot from my red scare bs. And taught me all I know about gender too, not to mention neurotype.

    This is why I have developed huge hope for the world with these kids in it. They are indeed alright.
