It was related to Kiryu Coco and China; but I forgot what it was. (I think the link explains it; but my brain feels like mush so I can’t understand it that well currently.)

It feels too complicated to know and too difficult for me to properly research it. (Sounds like everything political lmao; and yet I still continue to read about politics. fml…)

(I’m asking on Lemmygrad because I lost trust in western media after finding out about the sinophobia.)

  • IIRC Kiryu Coco was reading YouTube statistics, where China and Taiwan are listed as separate countries.

Some Chinese internet users boycotted Hololive, which led them to issue an official apology, and suspend Kiryu Coco from streaming for a week.

But the part about “the Chinese government being angry and banning Hololive” seems like baloney.

    • Like the famous John Cena apology, anticommunists apparently cannot fathom that actual people living in China who are not part of the CPC can have individual opinions that may or may not correspond to their government’s official policies, and that apologies in situations like these may just be caused by the capitalists trying to preempt potential consumer backlash
