The University of Sevilla has designed a PV-powered "smart" canopy that activates a thermal conditioning system to reduce extreme heat by up to 20 C.

    My tiny 1.6 kWp DIY PV has been averaging 6 kWh/day the last 5 months. If this holds up over the year I’ll be making 2/3rds of my net electric power myself. ROI is about two years. I’ll probably bump it up by another 400-800 W this year and add a few kWh storage next year.
